Don't feel bad Bob, it's natural because my name's so unusual. Veronica23 did it too. ;) I actually get surprised when someone get's it right. Especially coupled with my last name....

My son's name is similar as we took my wife's name (Tina) and my name and named my son Tyron. Of course we found out later that we didn't make anything new as it was already out there. He goes by Ty now though...

Yeah, my last name is a toughie for people as well. I now automatically spell it out whenever people ask my name.

Try being named "Lainie" which is short for "Delaina"... even friends and relatives mess up the spelling...lol
The Disciple fan-mily are just the friends I haven't necessarily met yet :)

Its kind of a dutch name. At least dutch people wouldnt mess up the spelling. ;)
I don't have a difficult name, But a lot of people spell it wrong. like this: 'Shara' or 'Sara'.
I always automatically say "Its Sarah, with an H at the end"

I didn't realize I spelled your name wrong till you mentioned it, but at least my spelling was closer than Bob's, haha ;). Everybody spells my last name wrong and pronouces it wrong too, that's because it's french, apparently the french language is just too complicated, lol. :D

seriousmustangnut wrote:Hi Guys,

My name is Byron... I'm from Phoenix, AZ. It's been an unseasonably warm winter this year (not like the rest of the US).

I heard of Disciple back in 2001 when I was downloading music online. Honestly, most of their stuff was too hard for me at the time, but then last summer I was listening to Air One and I heard "Dear X" come on the radio. Sometimes I have to hear songs a few times before I really take a liking to them. Not the case with this one. I immediately loved it and spent some time searching on the web to figure out who was behind it and what it was called. I then located it on Grooveshark and played it for my 10 year old son. He's a drummer, so I thought he might like to learn it. He loved it too! He got it down and we uploaded video of it on youtube at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY81yhXjscs

Well, needless to say, we got him "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" for Christmas. He was really excited.

I'm planning on taking my son to the concert on Jan 15th here in Phoenix and I was trying to find out if he could possibly meet the band before or after the show. I know it would really make his year!

Hey Byron, My name is Trent. I'm playing drums for Disciple now. Great video! Glad to see your son has taken interest in our music, and most of all, the best instrument ever :) What you're doing for him is awesome, I wouldn't be where I am today if my parents hadn't supported me in my younger years. I know how hard it can be with a drum set in the house, they're not exactly the most quiet and soothing instrument :) So I want to let you know that it's great to see other parents supporting their kids. I'll be keeping an eye out for you guys at the Phoenix show. It'll be my first "home" show since i've been playing with Disciple so i'm glad we'll get to share it together. If I don't see you until after we play, come to our merchandise table where we will be signing autographs after we play and I'll have a little present for your son that I think he'll enjoy. If you don't mind me asking, what's your son's name? Thanks for all of your support! Hope to see you in a week and welcome to the boards.

Wow Trent, I missed this post from you! I get emails for PMs, but not for replies on posts. Well, as I think you've guessed by now, his name is Ty. We were checking your table on and off all afternoon. We caught Andrew there, but for some dumb reason, I never thought to go there after Disciple performed. It was late and Ty's almost 11 years old and he actually goes to bed by 8:30 most nights. He was getting pretty tired so we headed home. Didn't even stay to watch Thousand Foot Krutch.

You guys played awesome! Hope you come back some time soon or play next year's Rage Fest!

Hi, I'm Rageofangels. I've been a fan of Disciple since By God came out. Although I first heard Big Bad Wolf on HM sampler CD and loved the sound of it. I'm also someone who loves lists and statistics...... so just to keep me happy, here's how I rate the albums.....

1 - Horseshoes And Handgrenades
2 - Back Again
3 - By God
4 - This Might Sting A Little
5 - Southern Hospitality
6 - Scars Remain
7 - My Daddy Can Whip Your Daddy
8 - What Was I Thinking
9 - S/T

My favourite of theres for ages has been Back Again. Some of those lyrics really hit a cord, and the way Kevin hits those notes - I dunno it just worked. But HandH is now my favourite.

Hey, im Josh Greer, I am 18 years old. My friend introduced me to Disciples music about 6 months ago, now their one of my favorite bands.
