She's not only smart, she is also pretty, and friendly, and caring, and my sister, and compassionate....wait, she said I couldn't gush over her anymore on the boards. She is also really strong, mean, and destructive. Best watch out for her! ;)

Another difference is that A/G allow women to be in ministry...pastors and such and I was informed tonight that Baptist don't. Let me know if I'm wrong. :)

you are correct. most baptist churches if not all believe that only men should be pastors and such... they base it off that one verse in the bible that says men should be the spiritual leaders.

Not too keen on Female pastors...unless unified with a husband who is also certified...the only two female pastors I know of are strange...s'a very weird vibe...I believe the scripture...in that sense I would tend more towards the Baptists...not that women shouldnt be credentialed as a pastor...but it's not like scripture talks of women as common spiritual leaders amongst men in any given community....ever.

well im a girl who is going to a baptist church and a baptist sponcered college to be a minister. there is quit a few of us(girls) that r going for our degrees in this. as you can see im kinda the backward fish when it comes to the "rules" of baptist(many of us are). my church backs me up, really many of the pastors in my comunnity that knows me dont have a problem with this idea of lady ministers. time is change'n and true many dont like it but my veiw is if it shows Gods love and is use saves the lost then keep it and use it. an local AoG church had to stop a saving ministery because people didnt like the way the gosple was presented, rock music. how do i know God use this ministry, i was save though it. sorry to go on a tangent, know to do that time to time.
we are all one in Christ,

Other diffences that are theological between A/G and Baptist
There is an acryonm called Tulip
Total Depravity- Can't look to God for help at all in your own state no matter what. We live in a broken fallen world and there is nothing we can do to earn God's favor.
A/G believes in depravity but not total.
U-nconditional election (onced saved always saved)
L- imited atonement A/G believes everyone can be saved. People are not predestined to be saved
I- irresistable grace
p- perserverance of the saints.
Hope that helps we learned about it in Theology today. :)

Yeah I love it. I think it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I originally wanted to go to a school in Missouri but God wanted me here and now I would not want to be anywhere else.
You should come here. It is a great school. It has it's flaws though, but what school doesn't? Let me know what you decide. Also, I highly recommend that you come and see it before you make you decision.

Yeah so many rules can be a drag but things are changing. Our president is pretty cool and says it is his goal to get rid of the rules :). It's really not so bad. I thought it was going to be a lot worse but I have learned to respect authority more and I have really benifitted from coming here. I mean it all depends on the attitude you come here with and it's kind of like what you put into it is what you will get out of it.
The one thing about NCU that I love the most is that people really care. Like people will lift you up in prayer and there are some people here who are totally sold out to God. It's so cool you can just see God on them. Well anyways that is my little thought about that. Now I need to sleep because i have class in the morning.

Ha, just off of the first post, without reading the rest I can give you the answer... You can't go anymore by, Baptist, A/G, Non-Denom... Each church, pastor, congregation is different. I was raised in the A/G church, went to more that one in my life, have gone to a christian chruch, baptist church, a few non-denoms and they were all different. You have to go where your needs are met. It's important that your church feeds you everything God has for you, the Father, Son and Spirit. We each have heavenly gifts to explore and use for God's glory. Don't get caught up in the politics of church. You'll only choke on the angst it will cause. God will direct you to the place that you need to be. Listen to Him and you can't go wrong...J
