Greetings Disciplers,
We are on the road currently in Shawnee, OK where the wind goes whippin' down the plains. We just got done playing a long string of festivals including Soulfest, Rock the Desert, Kingdombound, Creation west and east, Cornerstone and Alive just to name a few. The shows so far have been great, but what were really jazzed on right now is the new record:
We finished recording last week and sent it off to be mixed by once again the legendary Joe Berresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, LostProphets). We also just got the album cover back and it looks great. The record comes out on October 21, but we just started selling preorders at shows for a mere $12, so if you can make it to a show in the next month, buy one because we only have 10 more dates left before the albums' out and we want you, the die-hard fan to get your copy first! We are also working on getting our preorder forms up online, so we will let you know AS SOON as that's available, until then see you at the show!!
for the rest of the band, this is Israel signing off.

Disciple Blog 3/27/08
Well, here we are in Jasper, Florida, smack in the middle of the third week of the Cross the Line tour. So far the dates have all been great, but very diverse. Some nights will have younger kids that haven’t heard us yet, but every once in a while you get that show where you see fans that you know have seen your band at least 12 times in the last year. Now, having only been playing with Disciple for 3 months, I haven’t met everyone yet, so forgive me when I stare blankly at you, but rest assured, I can spot a Disciple fan a mile away.
It has been a lot of fun hanging out with all the bands were touring with. We’re actually sharing our bus with a few of them and are loving sharing our interests and the occasional verbal assault. It was also awesome playing guitar with our friend Micah (formally of Falling Up) who was helping us out for a couple dates. Don’t worry ladies, he’ll be back next week along with a few more surprises.
Before we left for this stretch of the tour Kevin, Tim, Andrew and I had a chance to get together with Brad and hang out all day, recording a demo for the new album. It was a blast and turned out sounding better than most demos I’ve ever heard. Kevin then picked up our new friend Jonathan Salas who will also be with us for a little over a week to play guitar and we laid down some gang vocals (that’s right, I said ‘gang vocals’) for some deep-fried metal, just like mama used to make.
The next couple months are going to be so great cause we have a pretty packed schedule. They can be refreshing, but more often than not, days off can just mess with your flow. It feels so good to have a couple days of solid shows and then nail it after you and the band have locked in. That would normally be the beginning of the tour for most bands, but we don’t get much time to practice together living so far away from each other. Apologies go out to anybody at the first couple shows before we tightened up.
Anyways, I feel like I could write all day about the experiences on the road already, but I know you have better things to do, so I will try to get some video up in the next couple days instead. See you all at the shows!!
